Habitat For Humanity of Kankakee County continually seeks to partner with
other community agencies, villages, cities, municipalities, church groups, etc.
Both skilled and non-skilled construction help is needed in the building of our
homes. The Marketing Committee, Family Selection/Support Committee,
Marketing Committee, and Volunteer Committee are in need of additional
volunteers.
Much of our homes get build with donated lumber, roofing shingles, windows,
doors, etc. Because our homes are always new construction, its important that
the components we use to build our homes are also new. Many of our
volunteers use their own tools to get the job done.
HFH of Kankakee County's Wish List includes:
An enclosed trailer 14' or larger
Tools
Gift cards for Lowe's, Menards, Security Lumber, etc.
Land for a build site
Even with the gifts of time, materials and tools of many members of our
community, Habitat houses still require cash donations to make up any
shortfalls. The fact is that right now it takes roughly $35,000 to complete a
home. Without this much needed resource, we would not be able to build the
homes we do.

$15 buys a door know, $100 buys a kitchen sink, $1,200 pays for a furnace.
